By focusing on Gianni Amelio’s film I ragazzi di via Panisperna, this paper aims to show the exemplary character of the disappearance of Ettore Majorana starting from the interpretations by Leonardo Sciascia and Giorgio Agamben. Starting from the idea of “simplicity” as an aesthetical answer to the question raised by Majorana’s story, the analysis will attempt to highlight the main filmic strategies employed to represent the life of the young scientist and its consequences for a theory of biographical narrative.
