Sociología y política de las sardinas. Estudio de caso de la comunicación y lógica participativa en un movimiento social posmoderno en Italia

TheSardinesrepresented a significant noveltyin Italian political landscape.This postmodern social movement emerged in the autumn of 2019 in Bologna “declaring war” (in a symbolic way) on Matteo Salvini and trying to avoid the victory of Lega and right-wing partiesin the Emilia Romagna regional elections. The mobilization was largy successfulby introducingthis new movement into the national political debate and the media discourse. This has broughtalso some original perspectives compared with latest mobilization’s history of civil society in Italy. The article addresses the following issues: The roots and genesis of theSardines; the contradictory (even if really successful, indeed) development and the potential and problematic stepsfortheinstitutionalizationprocess; the communication strategies, the self-narrative and political discourse; the organizational and political metamorphosis due to the evolution of the pandemic.
