La scuola al museo: l’esperienza di apprendimento dal punto di vista degli alunni.

Living the school experience at the Museum for a week represented a unique and immersive cultural experience for the primary and secondary school students of the Istituto “A. Manzoni” of Reggio Emilia. This study aimed at analyzing the students' point of view, in order to bring out representations, significant experiences, attitudes and learning that they recognise as connected to the week at the Museum. A questionnaire was proposed with three questions, two of which were open-ended and one closed with multiple answers. All three questions asked the pupils to reflect on the characterizing elements, experiences and learnings that can make the Museum a 'special' place, not so much in terms of enjoyment of the experience but in terms of learning for life. The answers to the questionnaires were analyzed through a purpose- built categorical model and showed a surprising awareness by the pupils. They stated that they better understood the connections between the study disciplines and remembered especially scientific experiences. The results also showed that the civic function of the museum was also appreciated.

Vivere per una settimana l’esperienza scolastica al Museo ha rappresentato per gli studenti della scuola primaria e secondaria di primo grado dell’Istituto Comprensivo “A. Manzoni” di Reggio Emilia un’esperienza culturale unica e immersiva. Questo studio ha voluto soffermarsi sull’analisi del punto di vista degli studenti, per fare emergere rappresentazioni, esperienze significative, atteggiamenti e apprendimenti che loro riconoscono come collegati alla settimana al Museo. E’ stato proposto un questionario con tre domande, due delle quali aperte e una chiusa a risposta multipla. Tutti e tre i quesiti hanno chiesto agli alunni di riflettere sugli elementi caratterizzanti, sulle esperienze e sui vissuti che possono rendere il Museo un posto “speciale”, non tanto in termini di gradimento dell’esperienza quanto di apprendimento per la vita. Le risposte dei questionari sono state analizzate attraverso un modello categoriale costruito ad hoc e hanno mostrato una sorprendente consapevolezza da parte degli alunni. Essi hanno dichiarato di aver compreso meglio i collegamenti tra le discipline di studio e di ricordare bene in particolare le esperienze scientifiche. I risultati hanno mostrato, inoltre, come anche la funzione civica del Museo sia stata apprezzata.
