We studied 3 patients, 2 with Myoclonic Absences Epilepsy (MAE) and 1 with Rolandic Epilepsy (RE), presenting with perioral myoclonia associated with EEG paroxysmal activity. Neurophysiological investigations showed a correlation between the positive transient (PT) encompassed in the generalized (MAE patients) or centro-temporal predominant (RE patient) spike and wave complex and myoclonia in orbicularis oris muscle. In MAE patients PT of one side preceded the contralateral with alternating driving side, whereas in RE patient PT in the right region constantly preceded the contralatera

Abstract
We studied 3 patients, 2 with Myoclonic Absences Epilepsy (MAE) and 1 with Rolandic Epilepsy (RE), presenting with perioral myoclonia associated with EEG paroxysmal activity. Neurophysiological investigations showed a correlation between the positive transient (PT) encompassed in the generalized (MAE patients) or centro-temporal predominant (RE patient) spike and wave complex and myoclonia in orbicularis oris muscle. In MAE patients PT of one side preceded the contralateral with alternating driving side, whereas in RE patient PT in the right region constantly preceded the contralateraPubblicazioni consigliate
