This study was carried out to evaluate whether the job-related stress of surgeons during operations is higher than ward-work and which factors can influence the biological reactions. Biochemical (urinary catecholamines and cortisol) and circulatory (heart rate and blood pressure) measurements were made on surgeons during an operating day and on another day, at the same hour, during ward-work.
