We discuss in this paper the possibilities and limits of MR imaging in the evaluation of the biliary tree and its pathological aspects. We conclude that morphological aspects are the most important markers for differential diagnosis. Actually, signal intensity is not thought to be a decisive finding for differential diagnosis.
