EnglishComplex formation of uranyl(VI) ion with ammonia and some polyamines has been studied by the polarographic technique at 25 °C in 0.1 M TBAP-DMSO solutions. The polarographic data could be explained in terms of the formation of the following complexes: [UO2(L)n]2+ where L = NH3, en, dmen and n = 2, 3; L = tn, hexn and n = 1, 2; L = tmen and n = 3; L = trien and n = 2. The relative coordinating abilities of the ligands have been discussed on the basis of the calculated βOx/βRed values.
