Tht study of new moonmilk deposits, observed inside the Spipola Cave, allow to state that in this cave secondary dolomite may develop in absolutely “normal” environmental conditions. This is the very first finding of this rare cave mineral inside a gypsum karst system and the genesis of the Spipola dolomite is probably related to the long dry period lasted at the beginning of 2002.
