It is the aim of this paper to show the process of construction and use of a multilingual Logistic Domain Ontology as a basis to guarantee language and format transformation between logistic documents created from a legacy system and sent to another legacy system, then making the two proprietary systems interoperate. The ultimate aim is to enable all the actors of logistic supply chains, especially of small—medium size, to collaborate with each other without impacting on their current legacy systems. The work is partially supported by the INTERREG Central Europe KASSETTS project, realising a network of logistic brokers to optimise local and trans-national transports

Abstract

It is the aim of this paper to show the process of construction and use of a multilingual Logistic Domain Ontology as a basis to guarantee language and format transformation between logistic documents created from a legacy system and sent to another legacy system, then making the two proprietary systems interoperate. The ultimate aim is to enable all the actors of logistic supply chains, especially of small—medium size, to collaborate with each other without impacting on their current legacy systems. The work is partially supported by the INTERREG Central Europe KASSETTS project, realising a network of logistic brokers to optimise local and trans-national transports
