Two sampling surveys highlighted that, in recent years, the invasive alien bivalve Corbicula fluminea has colonized three canals in the basin of the River Panaro (northern Italy), where this species has locally reached densities of more than 1000 ind. m-2. Data suggest that the invasion began in the upper plain from the Marano Canal and that C. fluminea is spreading towards the lowlands along the S. Pietro and Torbido canals.

Abstract
Two sampling surveys highlighted that, in recent years, the invasive alien bivalve Corbicula fluminea has colonized three canals in the basin of the River Panaro (northern Italy), where this species has locally reached densities of more than 1000 ind. m-2. Data suggest that the invasion began in the upper plain from the Marano Canal and that C. fluminea is spreading towards the lowlands along the S. Pietro and Torbido canals.Pubblicazioni consigliate
