An experiment to compare the bioconcentration of copper in lab-reared and field-collected Hediste diversicolor (O.F. Mueller 1852) worms has been performed. Reasults lead to a great amount of copper accumulated in lab-reared worms than in field one; this could be attributed to a lower adaptation to environmental fluctuations of the former group of worms, being maintained in lab, without any form of stress and contamination.

Abstract
