In this paper we study first some relations between finite groups and variable order codes (cf. [3]) which satisfy the noteworthy properties that they are "homogeneous" and MDS (maximum distance separable) with respect to the Hamming distance. Finally we construct an infinite class of such codes.

Abstract

In this paper we study first some relations between finite groups and variable order codes (cf. [3]) which satisfy the noteworthy properties that they are "homogeneous" and MDS (maximum distance separable) with respect to the Hamming distance. Finally we construct an infinite class of such codes.
