The study presents information demonstraying the presence and a role for endogenous alkaloid, namely morphine, in invertebrate, such as the molluscs Mytilus edulis and Planorbarius corneus and the nematode Asxcaris sum. The presence of morphine has been demonstrated by immunohistochemical and biochemical methods in neurons, immunocytes and microglia. For this molecule important roles in the down-regulation of physiological responses concerning neural and immune system was proposed.

Abstract
The study presents information demonstraying the presence and a role for endogenous alkaloid, namely morphine, in invertebrate, such as the molluscs Mytilus edulis and Planorbarius corneus and the nematode Asxcaris sum. The presence of morphine has been demonstrated by immunohistochemical and biochemical methods in neurons, immunocytes and microglia. For this molecule important roles in the down-regulation of physiological responses concerning neural and immune system was proposed.Pubblicazioni consigliate
