This paper is concerned with the solution of block tridiagonal linear algebraic systems by two different parallel methods, the Arithmetic Mean method and the Alternating Group Explicit method. Similar convergence conditions hold for both methods. We describe the parallel implementation of both methods on shared and distributed memory systems and we report the results of numerical experiments on a set of test problems.

Abstract
This paper is concerned with the solution of block tridiagonal linear algebraic systems by two different parallel methods, the Arithmetic Mean method and the Alternating Group Explicit method. Similar convergence conditions hold for both methods. We describe the parallel implementation of both methods on shared and distributed memory systems and we report the results of numerical experiments on a set of test problems.Pubblicazioni consigliate
