A general methodology for evaluating geomorphological assets in a glacial valley of the Vosges mountains near the village of Gérardmer (eastern France) is described. The first step of the research consisted in carrying out an inventory and assessment of the geomorphosites, by using the combined results of a detailed bibliographical analysis and aerial photography interpretation. The second step of the study resulted in a cartographical elaboration by means of computer techniques (Geographical Information System), in order to represent and assess the geomorphological features of the study area.
