Abstract

Linearly time-varying fading models are used to investigate the differential detection of PSK signals transmitted over frequency-flat fading channels. The structure of an optimal differential PSK detector is derived and an analytical technique is proposed to compute its error performance. The results obtained by computer simulation are in excellent agreement with the analytical predictions.
