The synergic combination of local industrial by-products with biomass incineration residues is considered as optimized aluminosilicate mixes for alkali-activated materials. Ashes derived from the incineration of rice husk, bagasse, oil palm, etc., are silica-rich waste with a reactive behavior in the strong alkaline media. The thorough characterization of the consolidated materials helped to understand the role of each component of the mix design. The final application of nonstructural building materials is suitable for these novel alkali-activated materials (AAM) formulations. In this chapter, the concepts related to the use of industrial and agricultural waste in AAM in Thailand are described, such as defining characteristics and applications of industrial and agricultural wastes for geopolymer materials, including future trends and sources of further information and advice.
