Although bioplastics are increasingly perceived as an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional plastics, research on consumer reactions to bioplastics in the agri-food sector, particularly for fresh foods (such as fruit and vegetables), is still limited. Consequently, the aim of this study is to analyze consumers’ perceptions and behavioral intentions towards bioplastic packaging. First, a quantitative analysis will identify the factors that could encourage or, on the contrary, discourage consumers from choosing bioplastic packaging solutions. Then, a series of experiments will be carried out to determine which strategies could improve consumers’ purchasing behavior towards bioplastic packaging.

Abstract
