The present research aims to explore gender disparity from the perspective of organizational myopia, an organizational topic that has been relatively underutilized in relation to this issue: a set of myopic strategies may contribute to the exacerbation of gender disparity. Unlike current studies on organizational myopia, which are predominantly focused on private sector organizations, this research focuses on structures within the public sector. Particular attention is given to organizations characterized by bureaucratic-professional structures, where gender disparity has been a constant, according to currently available European data. Several key hypotheses are presented, and future perspectives for further investigation and validation of the proposed theory are outlined. The document thus provides a preliminary contribution to the field, paving the way for further targeted research to fully understand the relationship between organizational myopia and gender disparity in public sector organizations.
