Ethnopolitical situation in Russia: legislation and some aspects of reality

This article analyses some of the elements of ethno-political situation at the federal and regional levels in Russia . The analysis is based on three complementaryaspects of the concept of "ethno-political situation": the institutional dimension, the law (federal and regional legislation) and the practices of interaction between the different ethnic groups. The authors come to the conclusion that the ethnic factors are insufficiently considered in governmental activities in the Russian Federation, and there is a latent conflict in the ethno-political relations at the federal and regional levels.
