This paper aims to analize literary works by female authors from Romania who, having moved to Italy, chose the Italian language as language of literary expression. In particular, this study is focused on Ingrid Beatrice Coman-Prodan, Valeria Mocanasu, Alina-Monica Țurlea, Irina Țurcanu. The analysis of their texts allows the identification of the common points and at the same time underline their individualities. For example, the representation of the figure of women and the perception of migration, as well as the relationship with the past in Romania and the present in Italy are declined in a peculiar way in each author, with some recurring nuances. This study also highlights how each author has contributed to the diffusion of Romanian culture in Italy also through translation activity. It will be highlighted how the translated works were chosen consistently with the poetic research of the individual authors. The comparative perspective of this research focuses on their sources, often interconnected with translation choices, at the junction between the persistence of the culture of origin and the innovation motivated by contact with Italian culture. Furthermore, from a thematic point of view, we can trace a characteristic of Italian-speaking Romanian literature, which express, by the symbolism of the sacred, the memory the past in a militant but non-invective way, probably thanks to the decentralized point of view of someone who lives far from the country of origin
