Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major global health problem being the first injury-related cause of death and disability worldwide. The aim of this chapter is to provide concise and practical insights about the epidemiology, pathophysiology, imaging, neuromonitoring and management of severe TBI patients. The challenging and difficult scenario regarding the management of polytrauma patients with concomitant head injuries will also be discussed.
