Il dibattito argomentato come testo orale: le caratteristiche linguistiche

The article discusses the linguistic features of debate, from the perspective of teachers having to develop and promote the skills necessary to produce and sustain argumentation in debate contests. Starting from the consideration that it is an oral text, the article begins by framing debate in relation to the ways in which it combines the three main components of speech mode (transmission channel, relationship between sender and receiver, conditions of production and reception of the message); this is followed by a discussion of the linguistic structures typical of spoken communication that are most relevant in debate; finally, the focus shifts to consideration of the linguistic indicators of argumentation.

L’articolo propone una discussione delle caratteristiche linguistiche del dibattito argomentato, nella prospettiva dell’insegnante che ha il compito di sviluppare e promuovere le abilità necessarie a produrre e sostenere l’argomentazione in tale dibattito. A partire dalla considerazione che si tratta di un testo orale, il dibattito argomentato viene anzitutto inquadrato rispetto al modo in cui combina le tre principali componenti della modalità parlata (canale di trasmissione, relazione tra emittente e destinatario, condizioni di produzione e ricezione del messaggio); vengono poi discusse le strutture linguistiche tipiche della comunicazione parlata più rilevanti nel dibattito argomentato; sono infine considerati gli indicatori linguistici dell’argomentazione.
