Tra storia e scienze della vita: la storia evoluzionistica come tramite per il dialogo interdisciplinare tra scienze e umanesimo

In the last years, technological advancements allowed us to obtain enor- mous amounts of data in both scientific and humanistic disciplines. However, we also observed a sort of fragmentation of knowledge into increasingly specialized and scarcely interconnected disciplines. In re- cent years, it has become clear that this fragmentation is deleterious and numerous researchers are suggesting interdisciplinary approaches, which bring the different specialized disciplines around the same table, so that they can cooperate to pursue a common goal. Evolutionary his- tory can be today a tool for reconciling life sciences and humanities in order to decode the world around us better than these two disciplines can do separately.
