In the broader European context, in which the ground is being prepared for the creation of a single intermodal, efficient and sustainable space, the contribution proposes to examine the discipline of the multimodal transport contract contained in the new text of Article 1696 of the Italian Civil Code, in the light of the indications emerging from the uniform legislation (which has never come into force), from the practice of operators, from case-law and from scholars’ opinions.
