This paper proposes a reflection on remote work, focusing on work organization. The first part of the paper briefly reconstructs the pandemic context marked by an unprecedented growth of the remote work in both the public and private sectors. The second part of the paper analyses both the interconfederal agreement on teleworking and law no. 81 of 2017 on agile work, underlining some of the main critical issues in defining the work organization of the remote work. Lastly, the main innovations introduced by the National Protocol on Agile Work signed in December 2021 by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, trade unions and employers' associations are highlighted. The conclusions propose some intervention trajectories for the future.
