Keywords: Visual Semiotics, Visual Arts, Socio-semiotics, Performative Arts. The purpose of this article is to explore the work of contemporary artist Dan Graham, moving from Paolo Fabbri’s research. This article wants to be a tribute to Fabbri thanks to a specific point of Graham’s work: the artist’s ability to produce experiments – as a master and founder at the crossroads of minimal art, performing arts and use of technologies. The hypothesis is that the dispositives that Graham invented since the 60s (from fake reportages, to glass and mirrors installations, such as pavilions, or technological settings that work through videos on the alteration of temporality and spatiality) can be interpreted thanks to the concept of “diagram” (developed by Fabbri in particular starting from Deleuze) and through the idea of enunciative device.

Abstract
Keywords: Visual Semiotics, Visual Arts, Socio-semiotics, Performative Arts. The purpose of this article is to explore the work of contemporary artist Dan Graham, moving from Paolo Fabbri’s research. This article wants to be a tribute to Fabbri thanks to a specific point of Graham’s work: the artist’s ability to produce experiments – as a master and founder at the crossroads of minimal art, performing arts and use of technologies. The hypothesis is that the dispositives that Graham invented since the 60s (from fake reportages, to glass and mirrors installations, such as pavilions, or technological settings that work through videos on the alteration of temporality and spatiality) can be interpreted thanks to the concept of “diagram” (developed by Fabbri in particular starting from Deleuze) and through the idea of enunciative device.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
