Nietzsche reader of Emerson.The German philosopher is impressed by the work of the leader of transcendentalism as regards the idea of Fate and self-reliance (understood as intellectual autonomy); moreover he was probably influenced in creating the figure of the Üebermensch. Nietzsche considers Emerson a representative man of his time, a thinker in his own way heroic and never repudiated him (he repudiated instead Schpenhauer and Wagner).
