The relationship between migration and development has been reformulated and granted a distinctly positive significance, emerging as a field comprising international cooperation practices and policies and ways of governing migration. This article draws on a retrospective analysis of a research on a co-development project involving Ghanaian migrants moving between Italy and Ghana to present the migration-development nexus as a field of anthropological inquiry. Yet it explores two of the analytical-descriptive categories used in this field: diaspora and brokerage.
