We live an era of transition where finding out the most effective path to innovate higher education teaching and learning is crucial, in particular if online teaching and learning is concerned. The main instrument that, as scholars of educational phenomena, we should grasp as a defence weapon, in the sort of war that we are fighting against the risk of irreversible decay, is represented by research. To carry out research work aiming at identifying the effectiveness of the solutions in use is essential, always taking into account the teaching and learning models where they are based. This activity could be considered really innovative. The results of such researches in fact could start a substantial impact in terms of quality and improvement. The present contribution aims at describing the results of what has been carried out through the teaching and learning e-platform implemented by DIPED - Department for Educational Design Università Roma TRE - within the framework of the Tempus DEMED project– Development of Master Study Programmes in Education.
