The first network of Italian university museums, coordinated by the universities of Modena and Reggio Emilia, was created for a specific project, approved and financed in 2013 by MIUR. One of the four themes to which the network decided to pay its attention was dedicated to the history of scientific instrumentation. About 3740 scientific instruments have been catalogued and the most important have been included in four paths, that have been published in the first section of the bilingual portal of the network set up for the project (www.retemuseiuniversitari.unimore.it). In 2014, the network presented a second project, approved and financed by MIUR in 2015, for the creation of formal and non-formal educational paths aimed at the permanent orientation to scientific method and culture, published in the second section of the web portal of the network. In two of the three general themes selected for the paths, color and time, there are two subthemes in which paths dedicated to physics have been set up: four paths have been dedicated to the concept of color in physics, and four to the measurement of time. Lastly, in the third section of the web portal dedicated to educational paths for the school-work alternation, four paths are related to physics.
