Abstract

The new museological strategies are mainly focused on the user’s involvement and experience in the exhibition environment as real or virtual it is. This paradigm requires the identification of meeting points and interchange between museology and the neurosciences that study the mental bases of creativity’s generation and perception. Today we know the human brain is organized like a museum or, even better, like a catalog narrating the museum: indeed, the collections of different artifacts categories are the reiteration of what daily happens in the human mind. A cognitive mechanism consisting of the construction of internal images that neurally "translate" the reality, transforming it into a "gallery" of representations, into a visual life’s narration. Therefore, this research aims to trace the anatomy of this visual museum language, considered as a narrating and narrated body, which presence determines an edutainment habitat based on the three main elements interaction: space-human been -creative event. The visual museum storytelling emerges, though, as the lymph of this organism, highlighting the salience of the cognitive apparatus functioning and its crucial importance in the fruition process when we find ourselves immersed in the exceptional environment of the museum.
