The Polo Museale Fiorentino (the authority in charge for the management and conservation for all public museums in Florence, Italy) has started an investigation and monitoring project over the small fractures on the lower part of the Michelangelo's David. Our goal is therefore the creation of a complete data base of 3D models (sampling the whole regions affected by the cracks at different resolutions), which should become the main digital document in the hands of the experts to support further analysis and study on this phenomena.

Abstract
The Polo Museale Fiorentino (the authority in charge for the management and conservation for all public museums in Florence, Italy) has started an investigation and monitoring project over the small fractures on the lower part of the Michelangelo's David. Our goal is therefore the creation of a complete data base of 3D models (sampling the whole regions affected by the cracks at different resolutions), which should become the main digital document in the hands of the experts to support further analysis and study on this phenomena.Pubblicazioni consigliate
