Abstract

The paper is a meta-theoretical inquiry into the concept of ‘general clause’. As in former reflections by the same author on the topic, it is argued that the scientifically category of the ‘general clauses’ is too vague and uncertain, because of the different causes described in the essay. The given suggestion is to classify the several general clauses in more analytical subtypes, that would allow to better answer a series of issues raised by the study of the general clauses.
