Autoconciencia de una nación: el debate cultural sobre la crisis política y moral italiana (1994-2014)

With the 1992-93 crisis, Italy entered into an endless transition of its political system. This phase has been characterised by the rise and fall of Silvio Berlusconi, a key political figure that many observers identify with the so-called «Second Republic». A large literature on the remote and close origins of this crisis has been produced. It tends to focus on anthropological and moral aspects rather than on its economic and social dimensions. The article examines, trying to make a periodisation, this literature, which globally appears to be a kind of collective self-consciousness of a nation in crisis longing for a way out.
