Access to high-quality early childhood care and education (ECCE) services is important to children's well being and later school success, particularly for children with disabilities who require specialized support. The goal of this special issue of Childhood Education is to help readersd gain insights into the diverse strategies being used worldwide to strengthen the quality of services for young children. Variation in culture, language, government policies, societal ideologies, geographic areas, and host of other factors reflect the complexities thet must be taken into account when conceptualizing the meaning of high-quality ECCE services globally.
