Italian Journal of Animal Science

IJAS moved to Open Access Publishing

We are pleased to announce that the Italian Journal of Animal Science ceased to be printed and becomes an Open Access journal from January 1, 2010.

This was decided by the Animal Science and Production Association (ASPA) with the aim to further increase the diffusion of the Journal, while allowing the authors to have their articles immediately accessible to a wider audience.

The Open Access System is authors-pay and defined as free, immediate, permanent and full-text online access, for any user, to peer reviewed research. Authors retain copyright.

Some of the expected advantages of OA are: increased visibility, greater impact, accelerated publication, increased citations, enhanced availability of online search tools. The manuscripts will undergo the same quality control as the present printed version of the journal and will be peer-reviewed and published more quickly. IJAS will remain property of the Animal Science and Production Association (ASPA).

We are convinced that the conversion of Italian Journal of Animal Science to Open Access will permit to publish at a lower cost and will contribute to maintain a high-quality journal in animal science, animal production and related areas.
