This book is devoted to Spanish economist Gerónimo de Uztáriz and his work on economics as a whole, especially the Theórica y práctica de comercio, y de marina—The Theory and Practice of Commerce and Maritime Affairs. This lengthy and eminent treatise was first published in Madrid, possibly between 1724 and 1725, and the years 2024 and 2025 therefore mark the first edition’s tercentenary. The academic dialogue that provides the book’s basis extends far beyond the limits of its authors. Over the course of three years we have had the opportunity to present partial research on the content at conferences, seminars and other academic meetings and have benefited from comments, suggestions and criticism from scholars working in different disciplines (mainly economists and historians), all of which have unquestionably enriched the final outcome of this joint research. Since it is not possible to provide a full list of the academics with whom we have had the opportunity to share and discuss our work during these three years, we would at least like to express our gratitude to them all, as well as to the institutions that have opened their doors to us and enabled us to publicise our research on Uztáriz and the Theórica in different academic forums. This gratitude is extended to professionals in the libraries and archives where our research has been carried out and of course to the co-authors of the book for accepting our invitation to take part in the project.

Abstract
This gratitude is extended to professionals in the libraries and archives where our research has been carried out and of course to the co-authors of the book for accepting our invitation to take part in the project.Pubblicazioni consigliate
