The use of Ampelisca diadema (Crustacea: Amphipoda) (Costa, 1853) as a toxicity testing organism was studied. The sensitivity to various toxicants was assessed by means of the 96h LC50 values obtained with static test performed with Cd and SDS. Collected data were used to developed control charts. Preliminary results suggested the possibility to use A. diadema in toxicological testing.
