Rasburicase has been defined as a potent urolyticagent for management of malignancy-associatedhyperuricemia. We reviewed the data of 26 childrenwith malignancy at risk for TLS who received rasburicasefor treatment or prophylaxis of acute hyperuricemia, producing a significant decrease in uric acidlevel in all the patients. Tolerance of treatment wasexcellent. Rasburicase is a safe, highly and rapidlyeffective agent in the treatment and prevention ofmalignancies-associated acute hyperuricemia.
