Realizing the need to provide professional guidance and support for teachers and paraprofessionals in early care and education settings, regardless of geographical location, the Association for Childhood Education International has been dedicated to developing a global assessment program for early childhood care and education—the ACEI Global Guidelines Assessment Tool (GGA). This article focuses on the use of the GGA as a means to strengthen professional development for preservice and inservice teachers of young children, specifically in Italy and the United States.

Abstract
